Andrew Weir

ABOUT ANDREW WEIR
Andrew Weir is a cinematographer and director of photography whose work spans narrative films, commercials, and music videos. He focuses on visual storytelling that blends intentional realism with emotionally grounded, character-driven imagery. Andrew approaches each project with a balance of precision and intuition, shaping light, movement, and composition to reflect a story’s internal world rather than decorate its surface.
Raised in Detroit and currently working across the Southeast and Midwest, Andrew developed a visual language rooted in honesty, atmosphere, and a strong sense of human presence. His cinematography is influenced by naturalistic lighting, thoughtful lensing, and a preference for moments that feel lived-in rather than staged. Whether shooting handheld intimacy or controlled camera movement, his goal is to create images that feel tender, immersive, and purposeful.
Andrew collaborates closely with directors to build a shared visual philosophy for each project. In pre-production, he emphasizes detailed planning—shot listing, color strategy, lens testing, and emotional mapping—paired with flexibility on set to respond to performance and environment. With experience across narrative shorts, branded content, and music video work, he brings a disciplined yet creative mindset to productions of all scales.
He works regularly with ACs, gaffers, and production teams across Detroit, Savannah, Atlanta, and beyond, and is committed to creating a professional, supportive, and technically strong environment on set. His recent work includes projects in dramatic narrative, elevated commercial storytelling, and stylized music video formats, with a continued focus on visual evolution and character perspective.
Andrew is currently developing new collaborations with directors and producers who value thoughtful storytelling, cinematic texture, and emotionally centered imagery. He is available for projects nationwide.
